Mission

Turn every inspection into action.

An inspection that ends in a document is an inspection that changed nothing. Ours ends in a job with somebody’s name on it.

What we hold ourselves to

Four commitments. Each one is a constraint on how the software is allowed to be built rather than a slogan, and each one is testable, which is the only reason worth writing them down.

  1. 01

    Improve safety

By making the finding easier to raise than to ignore. If reporting something costs a crew member more than staying quiet, the system has already chosen its own answer.

  2. 02

    Close the gap

Between the vessel and the office. One record, seen from both ends, moving by itself when there is a link.

  3. 03

Take the paperwork out of the work

Nothing entered twice, and nothing entered solely so that a report will render.

  4. 04

    Give shore a current picture

Built from what the ships wrote, carrying the time it was last true, and honest about what is not known.

How to hold us to them

“Easier to raise than to ignore” means a finding takes a sentence and a photograph, on deck, with no signal. Time it. “Take the paperwork out of the work” means the daily report is composed from records that already existed. Ask what a crew has to type that they would not otherwise have written down.

We would rather be measured against those than against an adjective.
